First of all, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the topic of cryptocurrencies. If you have already done so and/or already in possession of a wallet, you are already prepared for the start.
In this example, we start by setting up a Bitcoin configuration. You can create, edit or deactivate existing configurations later at any time.
In the menu under the item „settings“ you will find the option „new configuration“.
In the first step we choose Bitcoin as currency for which we want to create a configuration.
Then you will find there 3 possibilities of the facility:
If you are using a wallet that does not allow you to export your addresses to a text or CSV file, use this option. Here you have the option of specifying up to 50 addresses that will be used for this configuration. This is done very simply using the functions „copy&paste“.
Once you have entered the addresses here, you can check them again in the next step. The system checks this at this point for validity. Crypto addresses have a specific format and so we can test as they are basically valid.
If you confirm, then you are principle finished with the initial setup. Further additional settings can be made directly in the configuration.
Similar to step 1, you have the possibility tom use your existing addresses. For this method you need a text or CSV file that you can export from most wallets.
After you upload them, you can set some formatting preferences. Your CSV file for example. If you have a header in the first row where column names are specified, you can ignore them with the option „skip header“.
You can also specify several columns in which addresses can be found. Then you will come to a confirmation page, where you can check the entries again.
After confirmation, the configuration is also created there.
Some cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin offer the possibility of so-called HD wallets. There are wallets where multiple addresses can be found in a wallet and these are distributed over several „levels“. There are usually generated via an xPub. An xPub is a public key that only allows the addresses to be generated. However, no private keys are therefore access to the coins is not possible.
We take advantage of this opportunity and probably this is the easiest way for you.
There you have 2 additional options:
3.1 Generate addresses now
3.2 Store key
By this method, you determinate how many addresses you want to generate. This requires the public key. However, this is not permanently stored with us in the system, but deleted after the configuration. The number of addresses is fixed here and cannot expand by itself.
For this method we have limited the number of addresses to 2500 pieces per configuration.
After you’ve specified the public key and moved on to the next step, please check if the addresses generated were the same as your wallet. There may be variations depending on how your wallet is configured , and that level of HD wallet you currently have.
If you agree with the result, confirm the configuration. Again, the configuration is now complete.
In the settings of your configuration you also have the option to specify a turning point. This is helpful if you want for example to start after the 150th address again at the 1st.
Important:
Please note that not every wallet automatically scans all addresses that you generate in our platform. Many wallets only scan the first 50 addresses. Your coins will not be lost if your wallet does not show them. Therefore, find out if there is the possibility to extend the addresses to be monitored. Alternatively, another wallet software can be used to enable a transfer.
Our support will gladly help you here, unless you came to the wished result.
Similar to the previous method, enter your public key here so that we can generate the corresponding addresses. This time the first 100 addresses are automatically generated and stored in your configuration.
In addition, the public key remains with us in the system, so that we can generate additional addresses automatically from reaching the 100th address. Once you have confirmed the result, the configuration is completed here as well.
You also have the option having this public key delete from out system.
To do this, open the configuration (under „settings“->“configurations“) and then go to the bottom of the page and click „display pub key“.
There you have the option to „protect“ in the line where the pub key is located. Also, if you originally choose option 3.1 , you can deposit the pub key here using „reactivate“ function to enable generation.
